At North Augusta Pediatrics, our team consists of experienced, compassionate providers and friendly, nurturing staff members who take pride in giving our young patients the personalized pediatric care that they deserve.

All of our providers are highly educated professionals who have undergone rigorous academic and clinical training in pediatrics. We maintain a high level of expertise through continuing education in order to provide the most up-to-date care for the young patients we are privileged to serve.

North Augusta Pediatrics believes in a team approach to your child's health and well-being, so all of our doctors collaborate with parents to provide the highest level of care.   • John David Allen, M.D

    Dr. Allen attended Georgia Tech to receive his undergraduate degree and then went on to attend the Medical College of Georgia to receive his medical degree and complete his residency in Pediatrics. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Allen has been in practice for over 30 years! He opened North Augusta Pediatrics in 2006. Dr. Allen and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 40 wonderful years and have 3 children (Michael, Katherine and Amanda). They also have 3 grandchildren (Abigail, Emily, and Jonathan). Dr. Allen enjoys hunting, tennis, golf and, of course, Georgia Tech football!

  • Mindy Stansfield, M.D.

    Dr. Stansfield graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. She then attended Medical College of Georgia where she completed medical school and an internship/residency in Pediatrics. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Following residency, she was a pediatrician at St. Vincent’s Joshua Simon Max Primary Care Center in Indianapolis, IN and also trained residents in the pediatric and family medicine residency programs there for 3 ½ years. She married her husband, Brian, in 2003 and they have 4 children: daughter Charlotte (born in 2009), twins daughter Reese and son Philip (born in 2011), and son Jack (born in 2016). She attends First Presbyterian Church in Augusta. Her family keeps her busy and helps her understand the needs and challenges that her patients (and their parents) face. She enjoys singing and exercising. She enjoys taking care of patients of all ages, but she especially enjoys twins/multiples and helping moms with breastfeeding issues.

  • Victoria Newsome, M.D.

    Dr. Newsome grew up in North Augusta and is excited to be returning home. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in biology before completing medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Greenville. She then traveled to Nashville to complete her residency training in Pediatrics at Vanderbilt. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined North Augusta Pediatrics in 2020. She married her husband, Burns, in 2016, and their son, Lochlan, was born in 2019. She enjoys reading, travel, spending time with family, and sports, particularly soccer and Gamecock football! She is excited to develop long lasting relationships with patients and families in her home town, and has particular interest in preventative medicine and advocacy.

  • Abbey Fields, M.D.

    Dr. Fields is from her hometown of Monroe, GA where she went to school at George Walton Academy for 14 years. She then attended and graduated from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC with a bachelor's degree in Biology. She completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and stayed in Augusta to complete her residency training in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Georgia. She iscertified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She lives with her husband, Andre, and their two daughters in North Augusta. She enjoys being involved in her church community at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta. Dr. Fields loves being a Pediatrician and is honored to care both for children and their families. 

  • Monique Bailey, M.D.

    Dr. Bailey grew up in Douglasville, GA before heading to college at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering in 2016. She returned to GA for medical school at Emory University School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2020. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of GA in 2023. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). In her free time, she enjoys bike riding, music, and spending time with her siblings. She is also involved with the Children's ministry and Women's Bible study at her church, Crawford Avenue Baptist in Augusta. She has a particular interest in treating patients with asthma, obesity, and complex care needs. She is excited to care for the North Augusta and surrounding communities!

  • Katherine Duncan, M.D.

    After several years teaching academic medicine in Middle Georgia, Dr. Duncan is excited to join North Augusta Pediatrics in caring for kids in urban and rural areas of the CSRA. Dr. Duncan grew up in farm country before earning her bachelor's degree at Baylor University, where she also competed four years on a Varsity Track scholarship. At The University of Texas School of Public Health, she earned a Masters degree in Epidemiology and Global studies, then her Medical Degree at Texas Tech University School of Medicine on the US-Mexico Border in El Paso. Pediatric residency was completed at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Duncan has studied, researched and worked on three continents and six different countries, specializing in care that empowers families from indigenous and vulnerable populations to become active partners in their best health.Dr. Duncan's holistic style partners with families' personal and cultural values. She loves helping parents choose the best of both modern medicine and grandparents' advice! This approach is especially helpful in early preventive care, mental health concerns for children and teens, and counseling on healthy diet, sports, and exercise. !Ella le encanta hablar en espanol con las familias latinas! In her free time, she enjoys cooking and yoga, and is looking forward to starting a garden and getting outside onto the Greenway as much as possible.

  • Bonnie Suwan, M.D.

    Dr. Suwan (aka 'Dr. Bonnie') is thrilled to return to Georgia after traveling to Chapel Hill, NC to complete her pediatric residency training at University of North Carolina! She and her husband Phil have lived in Augusta, Georgia with their three children (ages 12, 7, and 5) since 2014. She completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her passion for Pediatrics stems from the desire to create long-lasting relationships with families with the common goal of empowering our children to reach their potential and embrace their unique personalities. Her interests in pediatrics include breastfeeding medicine, complex care, adolescent mental/behavioral health, and supporting community-led initiatives. In her free time, you will find Dr. Suwan outdoors with her boys and husband, working on home DIY projects, and dabbling in photography/painting as hobbies.

  • Kathy Saumweber, PA-C

    Kathy received her Bachelor of Science at Augusta State University and then went on to get her B.S. as a Physician Assistant at The Medical College of Georgia. She is certified by the National Commison on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has been in pediatrics for over 20 years and has been at North Augusta Pediatrics since 2007.

  • Ashley Dickert, CPNP-PC

    Ashley received her Bachelors in Nursing from Clemson University in 2007. Upon graduation, she married Fletcher, and they moved back to his hometown of North Augusta. At that time, Ashley began working at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia while she pursued her Masters degree from Vanderbilt University. In 2009, she graduated with a masters degree with a specialty as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and is licensed by the State of SC. She joined North Augusta Pediatrics in 2009. Fletcher and Ashley have three girls (Zoe, Harper, and Sadie) and 2 golden retrievers (Dixie and Belle). Ashley loves seeing her patients grow up and walking along that adventure with the families she serves. When she isn’t at the office, she loves spending time with her family and friends, serving at True North Church, exercising and traveling! 

  • Lauren Boynton, FNP-C

    Lauren grew up in North Augusta, and after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Clemson University, she returned to the area to begin her career. While working as a RN in Obstetrics and Newborn Nursery, she obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from Augusta University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and licensed in the state of South Carolina. Lauren joined North Augusta Pediatrics in January 2018.  She is passionate about patient education and giving families the tools to live their healthiest lifestyle. Lauren is a member of Stevens Creek Church, spends much of her free time with her family and friends, and enjoys cooking, Clemson sports, and staying active. 

  • Samantha Zoltak, PA-C

    Samantha is a Physician Assistant from Buffalo, New York. She graduated from Daemen College, a well-known college for Physician Assistants up north. She is recently married, and she and her husband just moved to Georgia as a military family to be stationed at Fort Gordon. She is very excited to begin a new life in the South. She is licensed in South Carolina to practice medicine and is certified by the NCCPA. She also is able to prescribe ADHD medications for children struggling with attention, hyperactivity, and focus.  Additionally, she is a certified lactation consultant willing and able to help new mothers with any breastfeeding concerns. She would love to speak with any parents who have breastfeeding questions or problems. She loves kids, loves dogs, and is a huge family person. Samantha is excited to be involved with our patients and their health.

  • Shellie White,
    FNP-C

    Shellie grew up in North Augusta and has a heart to serve this community. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2014.  Upon graduating, she served as a RN in the pediatric intensive care unit at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Her favorite part was building relationships with the children and their families.  While working as a PICU nurse, Shellie obtained her Masters degree in nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  She enjoys spending time with her husband (Josh) and her two children (Charlie & Maggie).  In her free time she enjoys cooking, group fitness, & gardening. In the summer, you will find her cheering on the Braves and in the fall she pulls for the SC Gamecocks! SPURS UP!

  • Courtney McLendon, CPNP-PC

    Originally from the North Augusta area, she attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2007. After returning to the area, she worked at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia’s emergency department while obtaining her Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of South Carolina, as well. She is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner of Primary Care who has been practicing since 2014. Courtney is married to Jason McLendon (also from North Augusta), and they have 3 wonderful children: Peyton, Blaire and Baylee. They enjoy camping, the beach, and traveling together! You can typically find them grilling on the back porch cheering on their Gamecocks and Atlanta Braves! As a mom of a special needs child herself, she is looking forward to providing the utmost care, support, and education for you and your family!
